Let’s Get into this Lewk!

Outfit Details

This entire outfit was a super great steal. Other than the earrings I owned everything in this picture prior to the day that I wore it, which happened to be a day where I would solely be sitting in my living room and running around my house. Yes, I wore this outfit for the “living room” or as many know it for Thanksgiving.

Let’s start from the top because this entire ensemble is a LEWK! Yes, LEWK! Lol, that is no typo it’s just a bit of slang for an outfit that is super fly and fashionable.

  • Hair

I died my hair the day before Thanksgiving because, well, I was fed up with my dark brown hair that I hadn’t cut in over five months. I determined the day prior that if I didn’t color and cut my hair I was going to slap some creamy crack (or in layman’s terms) I was going to get a relaxer. For those who are unfamiliar a relaxer will relax my coils and my hair will look as if it grew straight with no curl pattern attached.

I watched a quick YouTube video over how to properly color your own hair as I’d only permanently colored my mothers hair. Permanent color is no joke, if done incorrectly all of your hair could fall out and you’d be looking like a newborn fresh out of delivery. I was going for a burgundy look so I obtained

  • One tube of Magenta – Loreal HiColor (for dark hair)
  • 1 parts Salon Care 40 Volume Creme developer to 1 parts Loreal HiColor
  • Half of Ion Color Brilliance Absolute Perfection Booster (Step 1)

I mixed these contents together and applied a generous amount to my hair all over my head and covered with a plastic cap. I allowed the color to sit for roughly an hour and a half to two hours.

After I rinsed the dye out of my hair I applied

  • Ion Absolute Perfection Color Sealer (Step 2) – I sat with the color sealer under a plastic cap for about 30 minutes before thoroughly washing it out of my hair.

I then applied

  • Shea Moisture Super fruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Shampoo and Conditioner ($9.99/ per bottle)
  • Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Treatment Masque

I love this shampoo and conditioner combo especially when I color my hair because it leaves it soft, vibrant, and tangle free. Also, the smell is phenomenal and well ya know the men like good smelling hair. LOL. I typically shampoo my hair and finger comb my coils for at least 10-15 minutes. I then massage my conditioner in generously and allow it to sit for 10-30 minutes. I utilize the masque to ensure that my color and moisture is sealed in. This masque is absolutely to die for! It is very creamy and doesn’t require you to overload your hair with product. I usually sit with this on my scalp under a plastic cap for about 30 minutes or so. This product has to be one of my favorites from Shea Moisture because if how creamy it feels on my hair and how soft my hair remains after I utilize the product. The smell is also great and that’s an absolute must!

After washing the masque out I use my moisture sealer kit which includes:

  • Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner ($14.00)
  • OGX Renewing + Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil (a small portion to fill the middle of my hands) ($5.74)
  • Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle ($9.99)

Okay, okay. I’m a “Shea Moisture head”! LOL! I love their products and it works really well on my hair so I utilize majority of the line. Also, yes I know this sounds like a really long process and it is. I only do wash day on Saturday because it takes a lot of time and I don’t like to rush through it. I found these products at my local beauty supply store, Walmart, and Sally’s and I am sure you can find them too, and maybe for a better price!

*Disclosure, I am NOT a beautician! Please consult a licensed professional before attempting to do this on your own.

Now, I didn’t get burgundy however the dark red works wonders on my skin and highlights all of my key areas – so I am in love with it. The coloring products cost around $20 total at my local Sally’s.

Close up shot of my color and my curl pattern.

I went to a barber for a line and shape up and I actually planned on getting a design in my haircut, however; I had no appointment and I knew the best barbers would be booked and busy the entire day before Thanksgiving and I was on a major time crunch. I won’t mention the barber that cut my hair because quite frankly he did a horrible job. His clippers were not oiled properly and it hurt a bit when he cut closer to my skin. My shape looks worse than when I went and so yeah, that was $20 that I pretty much wasted, but hey – my pictures look cute.

  • Face

Now, I planned to get my eyebrows waxed because, well what gal doesn’t want eyebrows that look amazing? I went to the nail salon I usually go to, to get my eyebrows waxed and they were packed with an hour and half wait that I just couldn’t sit through so I skipped it all together.

  • Glasses: Guess GU 2464 in Burgundy ($199 for frames only)
  • Earrings: Rhinestone Panther Tassel Drop Earrings ($9.90)
  • Mascara & Eyeliner (already owned from beauty supply store, roughly $10)
  • Lipstick and Lipgloss (already owned from beauty supply store, roughly $7

  • Attire

Now as stated, the only item I went out and bought were the earrings. Every thing else was already owned rather it had been worn or not is NOT up for question. LOL. Sometimes I buy stuff and end up not liking it so it sits for a year or more until I find something to wear with it.  I have this weird thing and I rarely ever take something back unless I plan on exchanging it.

  • GIRL. Tee comes from Jasmine Diane’s website that is linked in my next POST at 4pm.
    • What’s super cool about this Tee is that I won it, and I lost it! Find out the amazing det’s on the next post, by clicking HERE.
  • Skirt: Forever 21 Black Faux Leather Skirt (approximately $20)
    • Okay, so I guess I like American Eagle and Forever 21 just about the same because I have quite a few items from both of those stores. Anyway, I got this skirt maybe 3-4 years ago and I know it wasn’t more than twenty dollars, because well – I shop deals and I wouldn’t buy a skirt that cost more than $20 from Forever 21.
  • Belt: $2 at my local Thrift Store.
    • I used to thrift a lot and truthfully although I’ve had the belt for at least four years, I think I’ve only worn it a handful of times.
  • Shoes: Forever 21 Black Stiletto with Pearl Rhinestones encrusted on the back. ($30)
    • Okay, so I bought these shoes last year. I didn’t really want them but I bought two dresses around my birthday and the shape of the shoes would be suiting but I HATED the pearls on the back. I mean, I thought they were hideous. Remember, I said I don’t take things back? Well, by the time I’d looked at the shoes again almost five months had passed and even though the shoes still had the tags on them AND I had the receipt Forever 21 said they would give me $10 but I couldn’t do an even exchange so I just kept them because, why would I just give them $20? Also, I broke my left pinky toe in August and for some reason it still really hurts to wear heels so after taking these pictures I put on some flats, HA!
      • Side, side note! Don’t tell my cousin my toes aren’t painted, lol he will roast me, but in my defense I felt like I didn’t need to paint them since I was going to be wearing flats anyway.

  • Accessories

  • Guess Crossbody Bag
    • My niece said, “Ohhh, Aunnie you got a Gucci purse? LOL! I told her one day girl one day. Can y’all tell the kid has taste? Well, the bag was a gift about two years ago for Christmas and I can’t find the exact name and price online so just look at the beauty of it, tehehe!
  • Rings! Pearl & Rhinestone Ring Set from Forever 21 ($7.90)
    • I lied. I forgot I bought myself some new rings to go along with my fire earrings.

∴♥δ I’ve never done a review and geesh this was a pretty long review but I hope you guys enjoy my spin on how I rate and review the things that I have acquired. I’ve had a few brands reach out for collaborations and requested that I review their products for pay or for free merchandise and I wanted to see how I would do it as me without any stipulations placed by others. I like this style! It’s my style. So, if you liked it be sure to comment below and share with someone also. Owe, and brands I am now doing reviews – Send me your products.  δ♥∴
